Phosphorgewinnung Schkopau GmbH (PGS) has signed its first commercial agreement for RevoCaP, the high-purity recycled calcium phosphate produced through the patented Ash2Phos process. Under the three-year agreement, SODIVAS will market and distribute approximately 20 per cent of the planned RevoCaP production from the Ash2Phos facility currently under construction in Schkopau, Germany, securing demand for a significant share of future production before operations have even begun.
As the first commercial agreement signed for RevoCaP, the partnership provides early market validation for the Ash2Phos technology and demonstrates growing demand for recycled phosphorus in Europe.
“With SODIVAS becoming the first commercial partner for RevoCaP, this agreement marks an important milestone in bringing recycled phosphorus to the market. Securing demand for a significant share of our future production before start-up demonstrates that customers are ready to choose circular alternatives that can help reduce Europe's dependence on virgin phosphate resources while maintaining the quality they require,” says Anna Lundbom, Managing Director of PGS.
Through the agreement, PGS secures an established route to market in France and Spain, while SODIVAS gains access to a new source of high-purity recycled phosphate produced from incinerated sewage sludge. Deliveries will begin once the facility enters operation at the beginning of 2028.
Phosphorus is an essential nutrient for food production and a critical raw material for Europe. Today, much of the phosphorus used in Europe originates from imported phosphate rock. Through the Ash2Phos process, phosphorus contained in sewage sludge ash can be recovered and returned to productive use, creating a circular source of phosphorus that reduces reliance on virgin raw materials and imported resources.
“Over the past two years, we have worked closely with customers to evaluate RevoCaP and confirm that it meets market requirements. The response has been very positive, demonstrating growing interest in a recycled phosphate product that combines high quality, reliable performance and a circular sourcing model,” says Hervé Dartevelle, President of SOFICADA Group.
The Ash2Phos facility currently under construction in Schkopau will process up to 30,000 tonnes of sewage sludge ash annually. Using EasyMining's patented Ash2Phos technology, phosphorus is recovered and refined into high-purity calcium phosphate marketed under the name RevoCaP. The product can be used in a range of applications, including animal feed, fertilizer production, organic farming and industrial applications. This first commercial agreement secures market access for RevoCaP in industrial applications through SODIVAS' established customer network in France and Spain.
“Signing our first commercial agreement ahead of start-up is a powerful validation of both the market need and the value of the Ash2Phos technology. It shows that recycled phosphorus is no longer a future concept but a commercial reality, with customers actively seeking alternatives to virgin phosphate resources,” says Anna Lundbom.

About PGS
Phosphorgewinnung Schkopau GmbH (PGS) was founded in 2021 by EasyMining Services Sweden AB and GELSENWASSER AG to build the first Ash2Phos plant in Germany. This first industrial-scale plant is being built at the Schkopau Chemical Park in Saxony-Anhalt and has a capacity of 30,000 tonnes of ash from incinerated sewage sludge per year. The plant will receive and treat ash from mono-incineration.
EasyMining develops and implements sustainable industrial-scale processes that create true circularity. We convert elements from waste into essential nutrients for plant and animal growth. We are owned by Ragn-Sells Group, a privately held corporate group involved in waste management, environmental services, and recycling in Northern Europe. www.easymining.com
